Program Information
Pilates Cardiocamp ™ is a fun unique fitness program, training clients from the inside out using the Pilates method and Bootcamp exercise drills. The Pilates method of exercise was created by Joseph H. Pilates in the early 1900’s. As a child Joseph suffered from asthma, rickets and rheumatic fever. Through exercise he overcame his alignments and created a new form of exercise that would revolutionize the fitness industry. The Pilates method was first used to rehabilitate bedridden patients and help them exercise using resistance springs attached to their beds. The method was further refined, and in 1923 Joseph and his wife Clara opened their first studio in New York City. Among their first clients was the New York City Ballet. In the 1970s, Hollywood celebrities discovered Pilates and where the stars go, the media follows. In the late 1980s, the media began to cover Pilates extensively. The public took note, and the Pilates business boomed. Today, five million Americans practice Pilates, and the numbers continue to grow. The Pilates Cardiocamp™ is not just focused on Pilates but works on a whole fitness regimen that also incorporate bootcamp exercise drills to increase clients cardio endurance helping them loose weight, increase their energy, and maintain and healthy heart. Bootcamp classes have swept the nation offering intensive exercise drills to help you tone and lose the inches. Now these same drills are combined with the Pilates method bringing together the most talk about exercise experience since jazzercise. This program provides it ALL core training, cardio and strength- training exercises to help you lose weight, increase muscle tone, endurance and have fun! Each session is 4.5 weeks long and meets at 6am-7am Monday-Friday or 9am-10am Monday-Thursday. Your day includes a 20-25 minute Pilates routine working from beginner exercises to more advanced moves. Tuesday and Thursday will have you sweating will intense strength training exercises and Monday, Wednesday, Friday (no 9am class) will take it one step further with a 20-30 minute cardio drill around campus, on the track, in the gym or a combination of them all.
